I am an educator with experience teaching high school chemistry, Earth science, middle school science, and special education in Brooklyn, NY. My experience in K-12 classrooms informs my approach to teaching in higher education. As an instructor, I learn about my students’ interests, histories, goals, and values, and I intentionally incorporate this information into my lesson planning and facilitation. I prioritize building an inclusive community, and I engage students in learning activities that require collaboration, discussion, application of ideas, and reflection on their own learning. I have taught master’s courses and multiple classes in the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP). I have also mentored undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in the Stanford Graduate School of Education and across the University. See below for a list of courses that I have taught and selected feedback from students.

Selected Comments from Student Evaluations
“This course was by far the best course that I have taken in STEP and I am so grateful that I got to experience it. Not only did the content allow us to connect our understanding of theories to practical applications with our classes at placement, but every single day of this class modeled great teaching practices for us to be able to see and experience as students ourselves.” – Student in Curriculum and Instruction in Science, Winter 2022
“The instructors for this quarter were especially impressive in their flexibility with moving to online classes for the first few weeks of the quarter, and meticulously planned each virtual class so that it was engaging and had a variety of useful activities, assignments, and discussions… The assignments and in class activities clearly and effectively tied the theory and research we read about each week to actual examples of unit activities or assessments and provided helpful opportunities to see examples of what our peers and classmates were doing.” – Student in Curriculum and Instruction in Science, Winter 2022
“I really appreciated the detail and importance placed on our feedback and how the instructors incorporated it into our class. The instructors truly made us feel heard and cared for and they definitely modeled what it means to teach ‘people’ science by centering our learning and lives in their instruction.” – Student in Curriculum and Instruction in Science, Winter 2022
